Project Summary
White City Living is one of the latest innovative residential developments in West London. This luxury property development is set within eight acres of luscious greenery, boasting Japanese style gardens and a stunning lagoon water-feature. Situated between Europe’s largest shopping centre, Westfield London, and world-renowned research institution, the Imperial College London, White City Living has been strategically located among the very best retail, entertainment, and education that London has to offer. Phase 3 of the White City Living development included one 35-floor tower and two 19-floor towers, featuring 526 units. Resipoint worked with M&E contractor, Cilantro, to deliver our packaged utility rooms for all 526 units.
Working with the project contractor, Cilantro, Resipoint was tasked with manufacture of all 526 units across the three towers with our pre-fabricated packaged utility room. Of these 526 utility rooms, a total of 55 variations and configurations were required, adding an additional layer of complexity to the project. However, thanks to our innovative and highly-experienced team, Resipoint successfully delivered all 526 packaged utility rooms, fully equipped with the following components:
- Heat interface unit (HUI)
- Mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR)
- Main isolation valve for apartment
- Consumer unit with apartment cable run-outs
- Grid switch with PUR and apartment switchgear
- UFH pipework and connections
- Waste pipework for washing machine and the components listed above
- Space provision for telecommunication services
Luxury, sophistication, and exceptional quality are fundamental characteristics of the White City Living development. Therefore, when sourcing packaged utility rooms, our client required a solution that matched the same premium quality seen throughout the White City development. Delivering premium-quality utility rooms that were both visually appealing and highly functional was a top priority for our team. To maximise the aesthetics and functionality, we designed each utility room unit so that the majority of the pipework, cables, and services were concealed behind the units’ walls and panels, wherever possible.
To achieve this, our team had to carefully consider a number of challenges. To meet the developments’ requirements, a staggering 55 different variations and configurations of the utility units were needed. Each utility room contained a large number of cable run-outs, varying in lengths and quantities across each of the utility room configurations. Equipped with our experienced and innovative team, along with our extensive production capabilities, Resipoint was able to successfully fulfil our client requirements to an exceptional standard.
Finally, Resipoint designed, manufactured and delivered the packaged utility rooms across multiple phases of the development project. Working as a ‘central design coordinator,’ the Resipoint PUR design team consulted with all necessary parties early in the process to ensure all contractual requirements were discussed and project timelines confirmed. Resipoint’s concise and coordinated management allowed for the smooth execution of this complex project, saving our clients valuable time and resources.
Despite the complexity of this project, Resipoint successfully delivered a large installation of premium packaged utility rooms, accommodating a range of variations and configurations. Our expert team fully coordinated the design, production and installation throughout, ensuring peace of mind for our client.
